These aren't the snowshoes
your grandfather owned. we discarded the frame and deck idea in favour of a
high-performance, moulded platform. the result, a snowshoe that provides
extraordinary traction on icy surfaces and steep slopes whether you're
ascending, descending, or even traversing. With unique features like
detachable flotation tails for versatility, flexible glove-friendly bindings
and Saber Teeth for extra grip, our shoes really stand out from the pack.
Whether you're attempting a serious backcountry ascent or just heading out
with the kids for some wintertime fun, MSR snowshoes will get you where you

Denali Evo Ascent

MSR Denali Evo snowshoes are high-tech tools for winter
backcountry adventures. They represent the evolution of MSR’s proven Denali
design and construction method which revolutionized the snowshoe industry in
1995. The Evo Ascent is the premier snowshoe offering in MSR’s snowshoe
collection, featuring the same great traction and modular design as the
Denali Classic and Ascent snowshoes with a redesigned deck, binding and
crampon to improve backcountry performance and usability. Includes
Televator™ Heel Lifter to reduce calf fatigue to make climbing easier and
more efficient.
In addition to Denali Evo features:
*
Televator Heel Lifter
When
needed, they support the heel to reduce calf fatigue on long ascents.
*
Steel Saber Teeth
Provide extra grip in hard-packed snow.

Denali Ascent
Demanding winter ascents require equipment as tough as you
are, which is why we created the Denali Ascent snowshoes. These lightweight,
technically superior snowshoes offer incredible performance on ice and
snow-covered landscapes. |
Denali Classic
Now a standard among snow aficionados, the Denali Classic
modular snowshoe offers high-end features at a realistic price
(photo shown with Flotation Tails).
|
|
Flotation Tails
MSR’s groundbreaking modular design makes our shoes
extremely versatile. Simply attach an optional 4- or 8-inch for additional
flotation in soft snow or when carrying a heavy pack. This quick adjustment
- easy to do in the field - allows one pair of shoes to adapt to a wide
range of loads and snow conditions. Compatible with the Denali Classic and
Denali Ascent snowshoes.

Coyote Snow Pickets
Possibly the most
famous of all MSR products, the Coyote Snow Picket has stood atop the
world's highest peaks as well as in countless snowy playgrounds right here
in North America. Coyote Snow Pickets are extruded from aircraft-grade
heat-treated aluminum, which minimizes weight and maximizes strength. We
modified the T-shaped cross-section and put more metal where strength and
bending resistance are needed most. The result is a 20% increase in holding
power over other pickets because our design exposes more surface area to the
snow. Coyotes are convenient, too—attachment points are at 3-inch/7.6cm
intervals along the neutral axis.

Due to constant variations in
temperature, wind, moisture and sun exposure, snow conditions vary
radically. Consequently, this sizing chart serves only as an approximate
guide to flotation requirements. For snowshoeing on firm snow or established
snowshoe trails, MSR recommends using their standard 22" snowshoes for all
weight ranges. This size will provide more than enough flotation, plus it
will be lighter and more nimble than larger models. If you spend the
majority of your time snowshoeing in softer and deeper snow, MSR recommends
adding their optional tails to the Denali and Evo models or moving up in
size with one of our Lightning models.
Also, when snowshoeing with a
group, walk single file. This will pack the trail for those behind the
leader ("trailbreaker") and make the going easier for them. The lead person
will need the most flotation, while those who follow can usually use smaller
snowshoes. You can provide regular relief for the trailbreaker by rotating
the lead as necessary.
